Glanford Boat Club is a private boat Club in Brigg, Lincolnshire which was formed in 1934.

It is situated on the River Ancholme. Glanford Boat Club is approx 7miles inland of South Ferriby lock, which provides access to and from the River Humber.


Glanford Boat club is a private boat club based in Brigg, Lincolnshire. The club was formed in 1934 and has promoted boating since its start. It is situated on the river Ancholme, approximatley 7 miles from the river Humber. close to the centre of Brigg.

It has strong bonds with other local boat clubs including York Motor Boat Club, Strawberry Island Boat Club and South Yorkshire Boat Club.

Currently the club has 120 members and a strong social group.

Lock has reopened on Monday 10th July

Boat passage should be booked in advance with the lock keeper.Skippers should also let the lock keeper know their boats draft and follow his instructions at all times particularly with reference to channel aproach.

The club has many attractive features including moorings, bar, showers, boat lift and slip way, workshop, water and electricity points.
